Tuesdays 9.15-10.45am Open General Class
Fridays 9.15-10.45am – Gentle Yoga
These yoga classes are theme based – Neal teaches many of the movement principles he has learnt on advanced teacher trainings with renown teachers Donna Farhi, Marcia Monroe and Lisa Petersen.
We explore yoga, making movement enquiries to find a balance between fluidity and clear alignment through our body, so that we may move with more ease, comfort and integrity in our yoga and in our life.
These classes are suitable for yoga beginners and experienced practitioners. We explore:
- How our breath moves us
- Become more aware of our spine and of a mobile, breathing and strong centre
- How energy flows through our body
- How we can extend into backbends safely
- Moving with awareness from the inside out
- How yoga may serve you in your every day life
- and much more…
Currently these classes are drop in – just turn up. Bring your own mat if you have one, though we do have some mats that can be used.
Neal has been practicing Yoga for thirteen years and teaching since 2003. He sees Yoga as a map showing us the way to return home to a place of peace and a relaxed heart-centred openness in each moment. Neal’s teaching focuses on refining natural movement and alignment principles and learning to embody these principles in a way that takes our spiritual practice into our everyday lives.
He is a Senior Associate Teacher with world renown teacher Donna Farhi and currently co-teaches with Donna on her Advanced Teacher Training Program. Neal is also an experienced Holistic and Thai massage therapist (he regularly teaches bodywork workshops in New Zealand) and accomplished musician, living and teaching on Waiheke Island, New Zealand.
He brings to his classes an open heart and enjoys creating a warm and inviting space in which to learn, play and practice Yoga.
